Meet the Artist

Hello

I'm Vasco Ruas - an artist from Portugal (and a playful little elf at heart, especially in summer when photosynthesis calls). I'm a traveler sharing art and smiles a round the globe.

My work is inspired by fantastical realms and parallel realities, where I invite you to wander and dream.

It all started with a moment over coffee. A friend once said, "Stop sketching on receipts and napkins! Your work is too good to throw away." That comment stuck with me, echoing every time I picked up another receipt to doodle on (laughs). A year later, I painted my first canvas, and I didn’t stopped since. Nine years later, my art continues to evolve, blending the visionary with the playful—exactly where I hope to be.

I share my adventurous life with Rosa and our two dogs, Kaya and Kimura, all traveling together in "Índia", a van lovingly crafted by Rosa before they met. If it had been Vasco’s design, the interior would’ve been much more colorful. Our journey across landscapes and horizons fuels my creativity, bringing new life to my art and keeping my passion for storytelling alive.

When im not creating, my big treasure is shorts and gatherings of friends with overflowing tables and laughter all around. For me, friends are family, and my art reflects that same warmth—each piece a heartfelt connection between me and the world.
